Mr. Mareane reported that the first PACE financing was completed for Scott Land Yard Rentals in Caroline. EnergizeNY has informed the County that it should include a payment on the tax bill for this project.

As outlined in the memorandum to the Committee, Mr. Mareane briefly spoke about the PACE Law as amended by New York State. It addresses factors that have constrained the use of PACE financing and are expected to make it more usable for owners of commercial property. The County’s Local Law will need to be changed as well later this year.

Mr. Mareane commented the new Energy Navigator position will help with this program a lot.

Ms. Kiefer asked about the business plan and visits to the properties with proposed projects pending. Mr. Mareane spoke about the criteria and standards set for the projects by EnergizeNY. Ms. Borgella said the visits to properties are handled through the partners.

Ms. Chock requested a list of the 26 properties referenced in the memorandum that have been engaged with EnergizeNY to explore and to potentially secure financing. Mr. Mareane said he would look into providing that information.

It was suggested that a press release about the project completed by Scott Land Yard Rentals be done.
