Call to Order


              Mr. Lane, Chair, Budget, Capital, and Personnel Committee, and Mr. Klein, Chair, Government Operations Committee, called the joint meeting to order at 4:48 p.m.


Changes to the Agenda


              There were no changes to the agenda.


Public Comment


              There were no members of the public who wished to speak.


County Administration


Update on Deputy County Administrator Position


              Mr. Molino provided an update on the status of hiring for the Deputy County Administrator position and stated the position will be advertised this week and distributed a lengthy list of places where the vacancy notice will be published.  The ideal candidate will be someone who communicates well both verbally and in writing and who is a good listener.  Other attributes he is seeking in the person who will fill this position include good leadership, a problem-solving background, and an ability to build relationships and partnerships across County departments and agencies.   Michael Woody, Manager of Talent and Acquisition, will be assisting in the process that will include putting together a team of department heads who will do an initial screening of candidates.  Finalists will be asked to attend a Meet and Greet with Legislators and Department Heads separately. 


              Mr. Klein asked if it is Mr. Molino's intention to hire two Deputy County Administrators from this search process.  Mr. Molino responded that right now it would be best to hire one person and make a decision on the second position after he has had time to do an assessment.


              Based on suggestions, Mr. Molino said he would be making changes in the job description to include experience other than government.
